Top 10 MOst Soulful Songs

10. The Eagles Take it to the Limit; Randy Meisner gave his most soulful performance to date, especially in the Eagles concert series from 1977. Yes the Eagles put out one of their most soulful performances with this song.
9. The Impressions Keep On Pushing This song galvanized the civil rights movement and kept us pushing for change.
8. Linda Lyndell What A Man this white woman proved she had soul, and if the kkk hadn't threatened to kill her she would have been one of our most celebrated soul singers
7. The Jacksons Blame it On the Boogie this song was from one of the Jackson's most successful lp's Destiny and kept us on the dance floors having a good time.
6.Otis Redding Try a little tenderness- Otis made this song a cause, a moment in time, for this casual jazzy ballad became a soul anthem!
5.Teena Marie Fire Desire with Rick James- Rick was incredible in this song but Teena Marie took this breakup song places Rick never could have.

4.Whitney Houston- Run To You- this song moved me so it made me want to find Whitney and throw my arms around her and protect her from all harm. I had planned to meet her one day,  but she died.
3.Michael Jackson  Girlfriend- this Paul McCartney song penned for Michael's Off The Wall lp celebrated the many twists and turns of young love. Many claim Thriller was Michael's best lp but to the African American comunity Off the Wall was Michael's finest lp ever!
2. The Doobie Brothers What a fool believes- Michael McDonald proved white boys had soul too for this song revitalized the careers of the Doobies who had been rockin' since he late 60's and all through he 70's

1. Aretha Franklin- Natural Woman- now I heard this Carol King song many years ago and I liked it. I thought she did a good job. But when Aretha recorded this song, I was floored. It brought tears to my eyes! It reminded me of my mother who struggled to raise a houseful of kids all by herself as my father showed himself to be the worthless jerk-off he really is! But this strong woman of God persevered and did her very best with no help from nobody but the Lord! I mean I just had to sit alone in a corner and cry for Aretha didn't just touch my heart; she touched my soul! The lyrics of this song celebrates a man, but the spirit of this song celebrates God!
