Jennifer Hudson’s ex wants her found in contempt for violating gag order
The ongoing custody battle between Jennifer Hudson and ex-fiancé David Otunga isn’t settling down.
Otunga has filed an emergency petition, obtained by Page Six via The Blast, accusing Hudson of being in contempt of court and seeking sanctions.
Last month, Hudson released a statement to People regarding her decision to split from Otunga, telling the publication she requested a protective order against him out of the “best interest of their son.” In the emergency petition, Otunga claimed she released the statement, which he says has damaged his reputation, at the same time he was being forcibly removed from their family home in front of their son and she wasn’t home.
The former WWE star also claimed the purpose of Hudson’s actions since then has been to create negative publicity for him rather than focusing on the well-being of their child.
In the documents, Otunga also claimed that despite a court order prohibiting Hudson and Otunga from disseminating photos of their son or saying his name publicly, the “I Still Love You” singer gave an on-air interview about their son.
The wrestler wants Hudson to pay his attorneys’ fees, be found in civil contempt of court and be sanctioned for her actions of violating the gag order. He is also asking that he not be held to a gag order Hudson doesn’t appear to follow.
Otunga proposed to Hudson in 2008 after dating for less than a year. They welcomed their son in 2009. The couple called in quits for good late last year.
